Boreen Point caravan, camping and visitor information.
About the Boreen Point Area
Boreen Point is a charming little gem that certainly captures the essence of small-town Australia. Nestled on the shores of Lake Cootharaba, it’s the kind of town where life moves at a leisurely, relaxed pace. The Lake is very shallow and for that reason it is a safe place for families to swim and play. The abundance of wildlife makes the area perfect for nature lovers too! There are a number of popular spots for camping and fishing, and the area has its own brewery and historic pub.
Things to See and Do
Without doubt the star of the show is the lake itself. Lake Cootharaba is a water lover’s paradise, perfect for swimming, sailing, kayaking, and fishing. You can spend your days lazing on the sandy shores, taking in the stunning views, or exploring the tranquil waters. It’s also a gateway to the Noosa Everglades, a pristine wilderness area that’s just a boat ride away. Paddle through narrow waterways lined with paperbark trees, and you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into another world.
Boreen Point has a classic Aussie pub, a community hall that hosts local events, as well as a general store that sells just about everything. It’s also home to the annual Boreen Point Music Festival, where you can kick back and enjoy live music in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.
If you’re a fan of camping, there are a few campgrounds around the lake where you can pitch a tent or park your caravan. It’s a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the area.
If you’re looking for a peaceful escape, Boreen Point ticks all the boxes. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, and the beauty of the Australian outdoors takes center stage.
