The Mid North Coast New South Wales area has a subtropical climate and is known for its beaches.

Any turn east of the legendary Pacific Highway will reveal stunning beaches, sand dunes and quiet coastal towns, while turning west along this coastal corridor will lead travellers to laid back country towns, nestled amongst valleys and rainforests and home to the region’s legendary waterfalls and wildlife.

From south to north, the region’s main towns include the twin towns of Forster and Tuncurry, Taree, Port Macquarie, Kempsey, South West Rocks, Nambucca Heads and Coffs Harbour. Kempsey and Forster-Tuncurry are considered semi-major commercial centres. Smaller towns that are popular tourist spots are North Haven, South West Rocks, Urunga and Pacific Palms.
