The Lockyer Valley Region is a region of South East Queensland that lies between the cities of Ipswich and Toowoomba.
Bordered on either side by unspoilt mountain of the Great Dividing Range and traversed by a major national highway, the Lockyer Valley is a pleasant contrast of natural beauty and modern convenience, located in close proximity to South East Queensland’s major cities.
The Lockyer Valley is one of the “Top Ten Most Fertile Farming Areas in the World” with wonderful dark alluvial soil, good quality water and an ideal climate, but the region is home to so much more than just farming and agriculture. It is also home to a blend of town and country living with everything from top class restaurants and art galleries to hot-air ballooning, skydiving, bird watching, horse riding, stunning national parks and bushwalking, all within easy reach.
The Lockyer Valley Visitor Information Centre is an accredited visitor information centre and is located on the Warrego Highway in Plainland. It is wide range of travel information including maps, brochures, and itineraries. The staff are very knowledgeable locals that can give great advice on the things to see and do while in the region.
Located less than an hour from Brisbane, the Lockyer Valley is the perfect place for a day trip, weekend or family holiday.
