Campaspe River Rest Area

Campaspe River Rest Area is a free short term campsite located 90km south west of Charters Towers and 15km north east of Pentland on the Flinders Highway in the Charters Towers Region of Northern Queensland.

This is a very basic rest area situated just off the highway beside the river. but it does have toilets and a sheltered picnic table. The area is fairly large with plenty of room and there are many large shady trees. The surface is mainly bitumen with dirt and grass around the edges.

There can be some noise at times at Campaspe River Rest Area due to the closeness of the road and the train line that runs behind the campsite, otherwise it is ok for an overnight stay.

There is some mobile phone service here, but it will depend on your carrier.
Dogs are welcome at this campsite but please be responsible!

The maximum time limit for staying here is 20 hours.
