This beautiful region is brimming with a variety of activities and entertainment for you to enjoy!

The area extends 240 kilometres from Noosa in the north to the Gold Coast and New South Wales border to the south, and west to the beautiful Lockyer Valley. The area is also home to three of Queensland’s largest cities, Brisbane, the South East Queensland metropolitan hub and the States capital, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.

The natural features of the area include a diverse landscape of mountain ranges, isolated volcanic peaks, coastal areas including several large and many small islands, several major water supply and flood mitigation dams and rural landscapes that lie to the west of the urbanised coastal centres.

The McPherson Range, Teviot Range, D’Aguilar Range, Little Liverpool Range, Blackall Range as well as the Springbrook Plateau and Tamborine Mountain Plateau are all located in the South East Queensland area along with Moogerah Peaks and the Glass House Mountains.

Along the coast of the Moreton Bay region you will find Bribie Island, Moreton Island and North Stradbroke Island, three of the four worlds largest sand islands, as well as smaller islands at the south end of the bay.

Many World Heritage listed rainforests are located along the region’s southern border ranges, an area known as the Scenic Rim, such as Lamington National Park and Main Range National Park.
The Lockyer Valley is a major agricultural area often referred to as South East Queensland’s “Salad Bowl”.
