The Bundaberg Region is in the Wide Bay–Burnett area of Queensland and covers 6,444 square kilometres. The region is bounded by the Gladstone Region in the north with the Coral Sea to the east. The Fraser Coast Region is at the southern boundary of the region with the North Burnett Region to the south-west and west. The city of Bundaberg is the centrepiece of the region. It also includes the long established rural communities of Gin Gin and Childers. There are also many smaller towns and villages that have their own unique histories to discover.
The Traditional Owners of the region are the Taribelang Bunda, Gooreng Gooreng, Gurang and Bailai Peoples.
Famous for it’s beautiful landscapes, the region is home to both pristine coastline and stunning countryside. It’s closeness to the Great Barrier Reef is also a huge drawcard for visitors.
The Bundaberg region also offers mouth watering food experiences. The regions rich red soil, abundant rivers and surrounding seas are the source of a never ending variety of seasonal produce.
