Terry Smith Lookout

Located 78km north of Cloncurry or 103k south of the Burke and Wills Roadhouse on western side of the Burke Developmental Road, Terry Smith Lookout is a free camp with a large open bitumen area big enough for any size rig. It can be a popular place so it pays to get here early.

Facilities include:

  • Toilets
  • Disabled Access
  • Dump Point
  • Sheltered Picnic Tables
  • Fireplace
  • Room for Bigger Rigs

There is not a lot of shade here, and it can be a bit noisy due to it’s closeness to the road, but overall it is a great place to spend the night.

Dogs are ok here and the mobile reception is quite good too (Telstra). The maximum time limit for staying here is 20 hours.
