Glebe Weir Camping Area

Located 54km north west of Taroom or 94km south of Theodore on Glebe Weir Road via the Leichhardt Highway, Glebe Weir Camping Area is a pretty and low cost campsite suitable for all sized rigs. Fees can be paid at the on site self-registration station.

Positioned on the banks of the Dawson River, the Glebe Weir Camping Area is grassy and slopes gently towards the water’s edge. The camping area is spacious and level and mainly grass with plenty of shady and sunny spots.

There are plenty of trees around to help with shade. There are several power boards available but the powered sites are allocated on a first-come basis. Glebe Weir offers plenty of bird life and is a popular spot for fishing and water skiing when the water level permits. The are 4 powered sites and these are available on a first come first served basis. Fires are allowed in built the fire places but you much adhere to any local fire bans and rules.

Glebe Weir Road is bitumen but it is narrow and has cattle grids along the way (and you may also encounter cattle on the road) so care needs to be taken when traveling it. (source: www.sandstonewonders.com)
