Forbes Rest Area

Forbes Rest Area is a free short term campsite located on Junction Street between Lachlan Street and Farnell Street in the town of Forbes and lies in the Forbes Region of Central West New South Wales.

This rest area is just off the Newell Highway making it a very convenient place to spend the night on your travels through the area. It is on the southern bank of the Lachlan River as it runs through Forbes and is only about 500m from the centre of town via a walkway across the river.

Forbes Rest Area (also known as Wheogo Park) is a is a large relatively flat grassed area with trees providing some shade. The size of the area makes it suitable for big rigs. There are no facilities here other than rubbish bins but there are toilets in Lions Park which is just up the road next door. The camping area is about 200m down the road from the corner of Junction Street and Lachlan Street.

The town of Forbes prides itself on being very RV Friendly.

There is good mobile phone and television reception here.
Dogs are welcome here but please be responsible!

The maximum time limit for staying here is 24 hours.
