Farleigh Reserve

Located 10kms north west of Cowra and 239kms west of Sydney off Lachlan Valley Way, Farleigh Reserve is a free campsite situated next to the Lachlan River.

An isolated bush camp right beside the river, this campsite is a grassy area with a choice of both sunny and shady camping areas that can accommodate big rigs. There are no showers here but there are drop toilets, picnic tables and rubbish bins. There is lots of native wildlife here too which help make it a relaxing place to visit. There is no water available here but it is only 3km’s to Cowra Airport for nearest potable water and 8.5Km’s to Cowra CBD where there is a Dump point.

Directions to get to Farleigh Reserve from Cowra are: follow Lachlan Valley Way north approx 8km’s to the little Red ‘Farleigh Reserve’ sign on the left and a Turf Farm sign on the right. Turn onto the Gravel Road for about 1.5k’s keeping to the left down past Turf Farm.

There is good mobile service and TV reception from Cowra or Canowindra here.

Dogs are welcome at this campsite but please be responsible!

Facilities at Farleigh Reserve include:

  • Toilets
  • Picnic Tables
  • Rubbish Bins

Note: There are several other good ‘overnight only’ rest areas in and around Cowra. See TSRs along the river between here and Forbes, Particularly at Gooloogong.
