Chinchilla Weir

Located 9km south west of Chinchilla on Tara-Chinchilla Road, Chinchilla Weir is a free short term campsite.

The camping area has a pleasant bush setting and is ideal for self-sufficient campers as there are limited facilities available. If you don’t need power you can camp close to the waters edge with uninterrupted views of the wildlife and activity on the Condamine river. The toilets are cleaned regularly but there are no showers. There is water available but it is not suitable for drinking. You can top up ypur drinking water at the Visitor Information Centre in Chinchilla.

Camping at Chinchilla Weir is free for a maximum of 2 nights but donations to help with the costs of providing the power and general upkeep of the camping area are greatly appreciated and can be left at the Chinchilla Visitors Information Centre.

There is some mobile phone service (depending on your carrier) and television reception here.
Dogs are welcome at this campsite but please be responsible!

The maximum time limit for staying here is 48 hours.
